Traveling far from home for possible pain relief

I discovered my San Diego Wellness Team literally by accident, so it was no surprise to find myself in a similar situation last week when a chance conversation between my husband and a stranger online led me to the Vision Specialists of Michigan. Maybe I'll go into details at another time, but for now all that matters is my flight and hotel room are booked, and in two and a half weeks I'll be in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan!

When I was in elementary school, I complained about difficulty reading the chalk board, and pain behind my eyes. My mother took me to an eye doctor, and after running some tests, putting drops in my eyes that partially blinded me the rest of the day, he concluded I didn't need glasses, but suggested she ask teachers to seat me closer to the board. After finding out about my mother's migraines he figured I was just showing early signs.

Fast forward 30 years, and I'm about to find out if it truly was my eyes all along!

I've already started a journal, so I can keep a record of events, or any myriad of emotions I may feel after possibly experiencing my first pain-free'ish moments. (My expectations may seem unrealistic, but I can still dream. Chronic pain hasn't taken that away from me, and never will.)

Butterflies...

Isn't it amazing how the conversations we have with then-strangers, but now family, can change our lives?

I hope you find what you're looking for- the end of the pain. But, if you can't find that, I hope you at least get an answer to the questions that you're seeking.

Best of luck,

n

Thank you for reading my post, for commenting, and most of all for the kind words, n.

With every form of treatment I attempt, I'm another step closer...to what I don't know. But that's the beauty of life :)
